I have been a craft bookbinder and restorer for 30 years off and on. I have not made my living in the trade, however I strive to be as professional as possible at the craft.

Hello…
Hi my name Dan and as always I’m a day late and a dollar short that being said I just discovered your channel. I am a amateur at bookbinding is something I would like to learn hence the reason I stumbled onto your channel and you make it look effortlessly. Would you have any suggestions on any books I should read or where is the best place to gain more knowledge on the bookbinding craft.

Hi Dan! Using books is not the easiest way to learn bookbinding. But they do help. I started with Arthur Johnson’s Thames and Hudson Manual. I really like Laurence Town, but it is a bit dated. A more modern book is by Tom and Cindy Hollander (can’t remember name). Good luck! Darryn
